      ■ To emphasize technological capabilities of offshore platform and marine cables in extreme environments
      ■ To present infrastructure capabilities, including HVDC submarine cables for long-distance transmission
      ■ Establishing integrated execution system for design and construction with LS Marine Solution

LS Cable & System is ramping up efforts to target the North American offshore power grid market alongside LS Marine Solution.

LS Cable & System announced on the 4th that it will showcase its offshore infrastructure products at the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) to be held in Houston, US, from May 4 to 7.

The OTC is a premier exhibition attended by global offshore energy and plant companies. It serves as a focused venue for the introduction of core technologies for offshore platforms, vessels, and subsea infrastructure.

The North American offshore infrastructure market is experiencing sustained growth, driven by ongoing investments, particularly in subsea power grids and offshore plants. As this expansion aligns with the growing demand for long-distance power transmission, LS Cable & System is focusing on submarine cables and specialized offshore cables as it accelerates its early entry into the market.

Offshore cables are installed in extreme environments with long-term exposure to UV light, salt, seawater, and mud, so they require high durability and insulation stability. Marine cables must also maintain stable performance under conditions of constant vibration and repeated bending. With its advanced material and design technologies for responding to these conditions, LS Cable & System can secure the operational stability of offshore infrastructure.

Furthermore, with certifications from nine major global classification societies, the company has demonstrated the quality standards and execution capabilities necessary for offshore projects in North America and Europe.

LS Cable & System will showcase its long-distance transmission capabilities through a high-capacity power transmission product lineup that includes 525 kV-class HVDC submarine cables and busducts. Another major strength is the integrated execution system encompassing design, production, construction, and maintenance that it is building in collaboration with LS Marine Solution, which specializes in submarine construction.

"For offshore infrastructure, reliability in extreme environments, long-distance high-capacity transmission technology, and construction experience are essential," said an official from LS Cable & System. "Drawing on our experience in executing global projects, we will expand our orders in the North American market by strengthening our integrated competitiveness, which encompasses both products and construction."
