Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) has entered the global electric vehicle (EV) supply chain by winning its first project.
The company announced on the 26th that LSCUS, its US subsidiary, will supply approximately USD 40 million (around KRW 60 billion) worth of busducts for an AI data center of a global EV manufacturer.
LSCUS has already secured over KRW 5 trillion in long-term supply contracts with global big tech companies, and this new supply agreement further expands its customer base.
Busducts, often referred to as the "blood vessels of AI data centers," form the power distribution system that supplies electricity to individual servers and racks. They are considered core infrastructure alongside semiconductors and cooling systems, and their importance grows as power density increases.
The AI data center power infrastructure market has especially high barriers to entry, as strict quality verification is required.
"LSCUS is on track to become one of the top-five suppliers in the global busduct market, which has traditionally been dominated by European power equipment companies," said a company spokesperson.
"We're currently discussing the additional supply with the manufacturer, and we expect this year's supply volume to exceed USD 100 million," said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable. "With US exports expanding and revenue from AI data centers increasing, we are anticipating our best-ever results this year."
Gaon Cable is the only company in the world that supplies both power transmission cables and power distribution busducts. It is currently ramping up expansion in the US AI data center power infrastructure market.
