■ 60% revenue growth projected for LSCUS
Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) is expanding its local production capacity to respond to the growing US AI data center market.
The company announced on the 16th that LSCUS, its US subsidiary, will invest USD 50 million (approximately KRW 76 billion) to double its production capacity of power transmission cables for AI data centers.
This investment will be used to add two new production lines to the Tarboro plant in North Carolina. The first line is scheduled to begin operation in October of this year, and the second in April of next year.
With investments in hyperscale data centers surging in the US due to the recent proliferation of generative AI, demand for power infrastructure is also growing rapidly. Because of this, stable power supply is emerging as a core competitive factor for data centers, and investments in related facilities are expanding accordingly.
LSCUS supplies products to global big tech companies through its local production system in the US. Its order backlog currently stands at approximately USD 200 million, with revenue expected to increase over 60% year-on-year from approximately USD 300 million in 2025 to USD 500 million in 2026.
"Most of the volume from the first expansion line, scheduled to begin operations in October, is already booked," said a company spokesperson. "We plan to respond to the surging demand for AI data centers by expanding our production capacity."
LSCUS is also establishing a power solution portfolio for AI data centers that encompasses power cables, cable buses, and busducts. Its busduct business in particular has shown rapid growth, with over KRW 5 trillion in long-term supply contracts secured with global big tech companies.
"We will further strengthen our customer responsiveness and supply competitiveness by leveraging our local production system in the US," said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable. "And we will continue to expand our North American business in line with the growing AI data center power infrastructure market."
