      ■ Expanding data center power infrastructure business in US and domestic markets

Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) is fast-tracking its expansion into the domestic and international data center power infrastructure markets.

The company announced on the 23rd that it will supply tens of billions of won worth of underground power transmission lines for an 80 MW large-scale data center construction project in Gyeonggi-do.

The project involves constructing a power grid to supply electricity to a data center, and Gaon Cable will handle both the supply of transmission line materials and construction in a turnkey manner. Notably, the company will enhance the power supply stability by establishing a dual power supply system to secure both regular and backup power.

With data center power demand increasing due to the proliferation of cloud and AI services, the importance of power infrastructure is growing, which in turn is fueling continuous growth in the data center power grid construction market. Data centers require a stable supply of large-scale power year-round, and Gaon Cable's power grid construction capabilities are a core competitive edge in the market.

Already the No. 1 company in the domestic medium-voltage cable market, Gaon Cable is expanding its data center power grid business based on its accumulated technological prowess in the transmission and distribution sectors. LSCUS, its US subsidiary, has already secured KRW 5 trillion in long-term busduct supply contracts with global big tech companies.

In addition, Gaon Cable is broadening its business scope into data center power infrastructure by establishing a business structure that can supply everything from external power grid cables to internal power distribution busducts.

"Competitiveness in data centers ultimately comes down to stable power supply," said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable. "Based on our transmission line supply and construction capabilities, we'll continue to expand our presence in the data center power infrastructure market."
