Gaon Cable will expand its reach beyond US big tech by supplying busducts to data centers of generative AI companies.

Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) announced on the 9th that LSCUS, its US subsidiary, recently signed a contract to supply busducts to a data center of Company O, a generative AI firm.

The contract, worth approximately KRW 60 billion, is highly significant as it marks the expansion of LSCUS's customer base from global big tech to generative AI companies. Further orders are expected from future data center expansions.

LSCUS has recently secured long-term busduct supply contracts totaling over KRW 5 trillion with global big tech companies, and is now cementing its position in the US AI data center market.

Busducts are core systems inside data centers that provide stable power supply. They are considered essential infrastructure for AI data centers, which consume massive amounts of power.

According to a company spokesperson, Gaon Cable has established a unique business structure in the global cable industry that can supply both external power grid cables and internal power distribution busducts for data centers.

LSCUS recorded approximately KRW 135 billion in revenue for the first quarter of this year, an increase of over 20% compared to KRW 110 billion for the same period last year. With revenue from AI data centers projected to grow by more than 300% year-on-year, the company’s annual growth trajectory is expected to ramp up.

In the cable business sector, Gaon Cable is also expanding its presence in the US AI data center market. The company signed a contract earlier this month to supply approximately KRW 35 billion worth of medium-voltage (MV) cables to US AI data center power grids, and expects related revenue to top KRW 100 billion this year.

"We will continue to expand our penetration into the US AI data center power infrastructure market based on the technological prowess and supply experience we have accumulated as the number one company in the domestic distribution cable market," said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable.
