■ Semiconductor power infrastructure business growing following supply to Icheon and Cheongju plants

Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) is rapidly expanding into the semiconductor power infrastructure market by supplying cables to more major domestic production facilities. 

The company announced on the 15th that it recently supplied tens of billions of won worth of power distribution cables to SK hynix’s Yongin Semiconductor Cluster. 

Gaon Cable previously supplied cables to SK hynix's Icheon and Cheongju plants. With this expansion of its semiconductor power infrastructure business, the company is well-positioned to aggressively target demand for the construction of new domestic fabs as well as the expansion and replacement of existing production facilities. 

In addition, Gaon Cable is currently in discussions regarding another supply contract worth tens of billions of won for the second half of the year, and is looking to participate in power infrastructure projects for semiconductor production facilities promoted by US companies. 

Power distribution cables are the core power equipment for supplying electricity to production lines and processing facilities. Semiconductor plants consume large-scale power 24 hours a day, and there is ongoing demand not only for new fabs but also for capacity expansion and the replacement of aging cables in existing plants. 

With the promotion of semiconductor clusters in the Honam region and ongoing investments in the US, the power infrastructure market is poised for rapid growth. Already the top company in the domestic power distribution cable market, Gaon Cable is ramping up expansion in the domestic and international markets by drawing on its manufacturing capabilities and its synergy with LS Cable & System.
