Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) achieved record-breaking earnings in the third quarter of 2026, buoyed by growth in the US power infrastructure market and expanding exports.
The company announced on the 19th that it has recorded preliminary consolidated revenue of KRW 986.5 billion, operating profit of KRW 52 billion, and net profit of KRW 30 billion for the third quarter of this year.
Revenue and operating profit increased by 13.5% and 43.9% compared to the previous quarter and 51.9% and 99.1% YoY, respectively, to reach all-time quarterly highs.
Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters reached KRW 2.6194 trillion and operating profit hit KRW 116 billion, surpassing last year's full-year figures of KRW 2.5457 trillion and KRW 79.2 billion in just nine months. Notably, operating profit significantly outpaced revenue, indicating that profitability improvements from the North American business expansion and high-value-added products are picking up.
Gaon Cable's strong performance was driven by growing demand for cables and busducts stemming from the expansion of investments in US AI data centers (AIDCs), renewable energy, and power grids, as well as increasing exports of distribution cables due to supply shortages in the US.
LSCUS, the company's US production subsidiary, is also continuing to show strong growth. In cooperation with LS Cable & System, it has been supplying busducts to AIDCs for US big tech companies, and has recently joined the ranks of the top 5 global busduct suppliers. This, along with the expanding supply of cables for AIDCs and solar power farms, is expected to push its annual revenue to double last year’s.
"Structural growth in the US power infrastructure market is continuing, centered on investments in AIDCs and power grids," said a spokesperson for Gaon Cable. "With expanding exports from our headquarters and the growth of LSCUS, we expect to maintain our record-breaking earnings momentum and continue to improve profitability."
