LS Marine Solution (CEO Kim Byung-ok) announced on Oct. 24 that its subsidiary, LS Buildwin, will undertake an ultra-high voltage (UHV) underground power grid project in Singapore valued at approximately KRW 80 billion.

This contract is a flagship overseas project driven by a collaboration between LS Cable & System and LS Buildwin, and demonstrates the global expansion of their power grid value chain.

The project involves the construction of a 230 kV-class underground power transmission network. LS Cable & System secured the contract as the main contractor, while LS Buildwin is responsible for the entire cable installation process. It’s part of the Singaporean government's efforts to expand the national power grid to cope with the surge in electricity demand from AI and data centers.

LS Cable & System is responsible for cable manufacturing, while LS Buildwin and LS Marine Solution will handle underground and submarine construction, respectively. The three companies are strengthening their global competitiveness through this integrated manufacturing-to-construction value chain.

LS Marine Solution has secured an order backlog of approximately KRW 700 billion, which is five times its revenue from the previous year. The company is continuously enhancing its construction capabilities by securing new projects in the Asian power infrastructure market, including in Singapore and Taiwan.

A company official stated, “LS Marine Solution is South Korea’s sole specialist in submarine and underground cable construction. We are reinforcing our integrated construction capabilities through cooperation with LS Cable & System,” and added, “We will continue our technology-driven growth in the global market.”
