LS Eco Energy has joined Hyundai Rotem's supply chain and aims to expand its special cable business for railways.
LS Eco Energy (CEO Lee Sang-ho) announced on the 11th that LSCV, its Vietnamese production subsidiary, recently supplied communication cables for railway vehicles to Hyundai Rotem for the first time.
The supplied products will be used in hydrogen tram vehicles for urban railways in Daejeon and Ulsan.
Railway communication cables are core components that connect control devices and communication systems within trains for the transmission of various operational data in real time. Because they affect the safety and reliability of railway vehicles, they require high stability and durability.
Through this supply contract, LS Eco Energy has secured a strong track record in the special railway cable sector. As railway vehicle components typically rely on verified supply chains, this is considered a crucial competitive advantage and a basis for business expansion. With Hyundai Rotem expanding its railway projects at home and abroad, the company expects more opportunities to participate in subsequent projects.
LSCV is expanding its product portfolio with a focus on high-value-added products. This latest contract is part of its strategy to sell more high-value-added products, such as special cables for railway and industrial infrastructure.
With the Vietnamese government promoting large-scale railway infrastructure projects, including a north-south high-speed railway and urban railways, demand for related special cables is also expected to grow. With LSCV as its local production base, LS Eco Energy plans to accelerate its penetration into the railway markets of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
"This supply contract is highly significant as it marks our first entry into the Hyundai Rotem supply chain and the special railway cable market," said a company spokesperson. "We plan to expand our cooperation with Hyundai Rotem and strengthen our efforts to target the global railway infrastructure market in connection with K-Railway's overseas projects."
