Gaon Cable has developed a new power solution for AI data centers in the US and is now gearing up to target the North American market.
Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) announced on the 12th that it has obtained CSA safety certification in North America for its cable bus, a high-capacity power transmission system. This marks the first such achievement for an Asian company.
Cable buses comprise a rigid metal enclosure with multiple medium- and low-voltage cables arranged at regular intervals inside. As they can transmit high-capacity power stably, they are used to safely and efficiently supply large currents in AI data centers, large-scale industrial facilities, and power plants.
More economical than traditional conduits, these systems offer outstanding installation efficiency as they are pre-designed and manufactured to meet specific site conditions. Furthermore, they protect cables from the external environment while enhancing current capacity, heat dissipation, and maintenance convenience, making them high-value-added power solutions.
Through this certification, Gaon Cable has established a high-capacity power solution framework encompassing cables, cable buses, and busducts. Based on this portfolio, the company plans to expand its penetration into the North American market by responding to everything from external power grids to internal distribution networks for AI data centers.
With data center power infrastructure hitting a bottleneck due to the recent proliferation of generative AI in the US, demand for high-capacity power solutions is growing.
With investments in AI data centers and power grids expanding, Gaon Cable is expanding its high-value-added power solution business to strengthen its foothold in the North American AI infrastructure market.
"The core of AI data centers is a stable power supply," said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable. "With our power solutions encompassing cables, cable buses, and busducts, we will continue to expand into the North American AI infrastructure market."
