■ To supply KRW 50 billion worth of power distribution cables for internal power plant use

Gaon Cable (CEO Jeong Hyun) will export power plant distribution cables to a US big tech company for the first time.

The company announced on the 28th that it will supply approximately KRW 50 billion worth of power distribution cables for a power plant construction project of Company A, a global big tech company based in the US.

The US company is pushing forward with an in-house power plant project to secure a stable power supply for its AI data centers.

Now with a direct contract with a global big tech company under its belt, Gaon Cable expects to participate in more power infrastructure projects in the future.

The recent proliferation of generative AI has led to increased investments in power sources. Global big tech companies are not just building data centers. Many are now building their own power plants as well to secure a stable supply of electricity, which is essential to be competitive in the AI industry.

Gaon Cable's US subsidiary, LSCUS, has already secured over KRW 5 trillion in long-term supply contracts for AI data center busducts with global big tech companies, while the headquarters has taken charge of supplying cables for power plants as it broadens the company's business scope into the power source construction sector.

Gaon Cable's exports to the US are also increasing rapidly, with export volume on track to reach approximately KRW 300 billion, nearly triple last year's level, thanks to the full-scale supply of cables for AI data centers and power plants.
